How To Host A Webinar

Curious about how to host a webinar? Hosting a webinar can be scary for the uninitiated. You’ve seen all the fancy-schmancy guys offering webinars, and you think you’re not cut out for it. The thing is you can do it, too. Here’s how to host a webinar successfully.

1 Start on Time

Don’t waste your attendees’ time. They’re busy, so make sure to start when you said you would. Nobody likes to wait.

2 Prepare Adequately

Make a good first impression. Set the tone of the webinar from the word go. You want to look like you know what you’re doing. Know the bios of the speakers, so you don’t have to shuffle through papers.

3 Hook Your Audience

Capture the imagination of your audience from the beginning. A good hook should be enough to keep them glued until the end. Let the audience members know what they’re going to learn and highlight the problems you’ll help them solve.

4 Prepare Q&A Questions

Have your own set of questions prepared for the Q&A questions. These questions will cover you in case the audience doesn’t engage as you’d expected.

5 Things Can Go Wrong – Accept It!

Don’t expect everything to fall into place. Even with the best preparation, you should be realistic. Leave room for improvisation when things don’t go your way. For example, your Internet connection could go down, your laptop could develop issues, or you could experience a power outage. You can always reschedule if things don’t work out. Make sure to explain the postponement to your audience.
